Chamber Awards Luncheon Set For January 17
Haden E. McKay, MD Citizen of the Year Award and Ambassador of the Year Award to Be Presented at the new Awards Luncheon
The Lake Houston Area Chamber’s January Third Tuesday Luncheon will begin a new tradition for the Chamber. The new “Awards Luncheon,” which the Chamber plans to hold annually each January, will honor the Haden E. McKay, MD Citizen of the Year Award Recipient and the Ambassador of the Year Award, as well as honor the outgoing Chamber board members and 2011 project team chairs.
The inaugural luncheon is presented by Texas Roadhouse and will be held at 11:30 am, Tuesday, January 17 at the Nathaniel Center in Kingwood.
The honors and awards presented at this January luncheon have previously been held as a part of the Chairman’s Ball. According to Chamber President Charlie Dromgoole, the Chamber wanted to highlight the award recipients with their own luncheon.
“The Awards Luncheon is a special way to just honor those that have made a difference in the community and the Chamber,” Dromgoole said. “With all the activities that take place during the Chairman’s Ball, we weren’t able to provide as much time as we would have liked to celebrate the honorees. This will be a luncheon strictly dedicated to the recipients.”
Dromgoole also said that the Citizen of the Year recipient will be announced in advance of the luncheon providing time for colleagues, friends and relatives to add the luncheon to their schedule so they can participate in the celebration.
Sponsors for the luncheon include Presenting Sponsor: Insperity; Awards Sponsor: First Choice Emergency Room and Gold Sponsors: Humble Area Assistance Ministries and Joiner Partnership.
There will be a NET Progressive Drawing sponsored by A Senior Moment. All representatives of members in good standing will be eligible to win but you must be present to win.
Reservations for the Awards Luncheon can be made by calling the Chamber office at 281-446-2128 or online at www.lakehoustonareachamber.org. Cost to attend the luncheon is $25 for members and $30 for guests.
